Frustratingly, delays at the printers have extended our expected launch date towards the end of July. The printers tell us that there have been problems with one of their suppliers in Ireland going out of business, requiring them to source materials from abroad.
Another date for your diary
We have set a date for our book launch as Friday 21 July from 5pm at Working Artists Studios in Ballydehob. Fingers crossed that we will have some books by then!
The sample we have had from the printers does look good. We needed to make some small changes to the layout and the finished size of the book will now be 200 x 250mm (about 8 x 10 inches).
Something more to look forward to…
Although often heard to say ‘I’m never doing another book’ Amanda is now writing one! The Holy Wells of County Cork – A Field Guide will be a Gazetteer of all the holy well sites she has visited in the county, with brief details about location, access, patronage and cures, organised into sections corresponding to each of the county’s eight Municipal Areas plus the City. It will be a smaller, softback edition and as yet there is no date set for its publication (we have learnt our lesson about that), but it should be a useful guide for anyone interested in visiting holy wells.
